This collection of personal and gift items were created and etched in crystal and glass to display the designs of master blacksmith, Philip Simmons (1912 – 2009). Steve Hazard, a glass and metal artisan and graphic designer, and Cristina Young, a graphic designer, have added their own creative influence to the production of these very special items.

CRISTINA YOUNG • As the graphic artist for the Philip Simmons Foundation, she has been a member of the all-volunteer staff since its inception in 1991. Her resume includes: College of Charleston, MUSC, skirt Magazine, and as an independent contractor under the name of cdesign graphics.

The Sterling Silver charms are crafted locally by G2 Silver, the authorized jewelry manufacturer of the Philip Simmons Collection. Each piece is inspired by Simmons' masterful ironworks that grace the streets and alleys of our city.
"My instrument is an anvil. I guess some of you have heard me play...a tune on the anvil. The old blacksmith tune. I'm proud of that avil, really proud. It's very dear to my heart. That anvil fed me when I was hungry and that anvil clothed me when I was naked. That anvil put shoes on my feet." -Philip Simmons
